Distance Education in University of Peshawar:
HEC initiated and sponsored a project for the development of some mechanism for the Distance Education in six public sector universities in response to the proposal by University of Peshawar. The proposal was greatly appreciated and approved. The HEC then constituted two committees. The University of Peshawar was included in the first committee and was assigned to prepare a PC-1 while University of Sindh, was assigned to develop learning packages.

After the approval of PC-1, the project was implemented in the six public sector universities nationwide including University of Peshawar. Other universities are University of Sindh (Jomshoro), University of Karachi (Karachi). University of Punjab (Lahore), Bahaudin Zakariya University (Multan) and Gomal University (D.I Khan)
